I love this idea Nathan, I think it could be a great way to promote local identity and potentially local craftmanship.
Of course, the trick is then to find the great recycling idea that is sustainable environmentally, socially and economically.
There is one success story that comes to my mind when I read about your concept. (
Métisse is a house insulating material that is made out of old clothes that are too damaged to be re-sold. This company is also a social enterprise which aims to create jobs for people in great difficulty.
I know people often have misconceptions about products made out of recycled materials but I think if the recycling process is well designed, it can lead to stunning results.
Any idea anyone of what could be done in Singapore specifically?

I really like it too, it's poetic and fun. Also it seems it could be pretty easy to prototype one in order to find out how people react to it and get involved with it.
