As we went through the OpenIDEO impact stories book, we realized that we have brought to life several ideas that emerged from openIDEO: from the OpenIDEO student chapter to the Youth Cafes, with a stop by the Greenhouse: A triple impact story at NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering.... We thought it was worth sharing and we wondered what's next?

During our Social Impact Challenge last year, we asked our global community to help answer the question How might we increase social impact with OpenIDEO over the next year?

We’re experimenting on OpenIDEO & we’re keen to empower collaborators from our community to join us in helping shape the future of our platform. With the launch of our Atrocity Prevention Challenge there’s a spot for a switched-on community member.

Throughout our Impact Challenge, the idea of increasing participation from university and graduate students was a common topic, and Charlotte Fliegner’s winning concept, OpenUNI, encapsulated a lot of that.

As a community, we’ve all got impact on the brain these days; specifically how each of us can bring positive change to our own local areas through actions both big and small.
